| In the late 1990's I struck a deal with my local Farrier to produce a software program (DOS based) in return for showing our horses for free for a fixed period of time. At the time it was only a hobby but soon took on a more commercial role. He was delighted with the program and offered to market it for me and we would take it from there.
Following a lack of interest I took on different projects in various fields. Then I was approached by another Farrier who had heard about my original program. This is when I thought there was a demand and it required more marketing.
Following my emmigration to the United States I met up with another Farrier who saw the potential. By now I had moved on from the DOS based program and was now programming in Windows code. There was a limited uptake of the software but things did not start to really take off until I returned to the UK after a period in America. My business partner travelled back to America to attend Trade Shows and I eventually secured a speaking slot at the Convention. Farrriers Manager was now taking off with the majority of Clients being in the United States.
I had by now started to develop Barefoot Manager, Dentists Manager and Vet Manager following contact with the relevant professions.
By now technology had moved on and I started developing a new suite of programs that would eventually replace the older versions and subsequently become Equine Manager. This was subscription based software, with free Windows and Andoid apps and utilising fully synchronized software supported by Microsoft Azure cloud servers. |
